Was supposed to start blogging last Friday to mark the 100-day countdown. I even made kulit Chesca to fix the background just to make abot pero fail! Now, I'm starting my 100-day countdown blog on day 98. Boo.
Well, I have a very good excuse not being able to start my countdown blog last Friday. Excuses, rather. Jof didn't have work cos it was Pasig Day. Ako, self-declared holiday. Weekends aren't enough for the wedding prep!
July 02:
Went to QC City Hall to file our marriage license. Hassle. Good thing our coordinator knows someone so we just gave the form and documents to the person in the Civil Registry office.
Brought Fuzzy to the casa at Fort. We didn't bring another car cos hassle so we took a cab to Greenbelt.
Took a break and shopped at the Topshop/Topman Private Sale. Nakakatamad magsukat cos ang haba ng line so I ended up buying only 3 items. Good.
Had dimsum and hot and sour soup in Good Earth. Yum! No rice. Woohoo!
Looked for a decent cord and veil. Gawd. Everything ready-made is sooo fugly. It's either flanked with tons of tinsel or lousy designs. I ended up buying 15 yards of the plain cord. Thank God for Chesca, I don't have to live with panget stuff for the ceremony.
We were super tired and ready to go home. We rode the MRT. Woohoo! I've been looking forward to that since the morning cos the last time I rode the MRT, I was in my MC highschool uniform. Jof ended up reprimanding me to ride the MRT forever cos I asked too much questions and got off balanced a couple of times. He told me that we're going to get mugged cos I looked like a first-timer. Malay ko ba. Bakit sa Hong Kong MTR or sa San Francisco BART ang dami daming sumasakay pero hindi ganun ka-sikip and ka-gulo?! I haven't even seen the MRT rush hour scene. Bakit parang hindi efficient talaga pag sa Pilipinas? Okay, off topic.
Next, we went to the wedding library to buy an arrhae set. More panget stuff. We ended up buying a set of unity coins - a new twist in the old tradition of presenting the bride coins as a promise of the groom to provide for the family. Ehem, Jof. The coins symbolize more than the groom's promise of being the breadwinner. Each coin represents a principle or belief that the couple should hold onto.
Whew. What a day. We went home and ate dinner while watching TV and fell asleep right after. We're such a baboy couple. I love it.
